In questa esposizione, dal titolo “Identità Scomposte”, dell’artista figurativo Felice Battiloro, i soggetti dipinti sono stilisticamente rivelati e al contempo celati. Proprio nella contraddizione tra definizione dei dettagli e sottrazione dell’identità, emerge la parte più profonda e remota dell’inconscio. Il gioco psicologico della negazione suscita un sentimento di assenza, che spinge a ragionare sul contesto per cercare una permanenza in ciò che è identificabile e che viene poi ricostruito dalla nostra memoria. Attraverso una dimensione non oggettiva e atemporale, questo meccanismo conduce al ricordo personale che prende poi le sembianze di un sogno, dove al risveglio non tutto è chiaro e definito. Nel momento in cui oblio e memoria sono ricombinati, lo spettatore dialoga con l’opera ed evoca un mondo personale a cui però tutti potremmo appartenere. La tecnica pittorica contribuisce a suscitare queste sensazioni: pennellate lente e spatolate rapide moltiplicano le visioni e fanno emergere figure senza un’identità univoca. Per esempio, l’occultamento degli occhi sui volti è istintivamente avvertito come un’anomalia, ma le sensazioni che si scatenano successivamente variano dalla malinconia all’empatia.

In this exhibition, entitled “Broken Identities (Identità Scomposte)”, by the figurative artist Felice Battiloro, the painted subjects are stylistically revealed and at the same time hidden. Precisely in the contradiction between definition of details and subtraction of identity, the deepest and most remote part of the unconscious emerges. The psychological game of denial gives rise to a feeling of absence, which pushes us to think about the context to look for a reality in what is identifiable and what is then reconstructed by our memory. Through a non-objective and timeless dimension, this mechanism leads to personal memories which then take the form of a dream, where upon awakening not everything is clear and defined. When oblivion and memory are then recombined, the spectator dialogues with the work and evokes a personal world to which we could all belong. The pictorial technique helps to arouse these sensations: slow brushstrokes and rapid spatula strokes multiply the visions and bring out figures without a univocal identity. For example, the hiding of eyes on faces is instinctively perceived as an anomaly, but the sensations that are subsequently triggered vary from melancholy to empathy.
